The name’s Carluke, Hog Roast Carluke. And well, we like to do some things the old-fashioned way…
Good food, great company and a party with plenty of style, for starters. So when Faith contacted us about catering for her husband Paul’s 60th birthday celebrations, we knew we had the perfect mission on our hands. The theme? James Bond. The brief? A memorable night of food, drinks and plenty of 007-inspired fun.
For the menu, Faith decided to go all out with our Menu 3 Pig, giving guests the full Hog Roast Carluke experience. A whole free-range pig was roasted low and slow until it looked like something Goldfinger himself would be proud of. Alongside the star of the show, we served herby sage and onion stuffing, sweet homemade applesauce and plenty of crispy crackling. Guests could pile the whole lot into soft rolls and wraps for a legendary sandwich, or, for those who preferred a more refined approach, we had bamboo crockery and cutlery at the ready. The plated option came with a generous side of creamy mac and cheese as well as a mix of sweet potato and classic fries with the option of salt, vinegar and Sauce Shop sauces for added flair.
Of course, no Bond-themed birthday would be complete without a little glamour, and Faith had made sure Paul’s big night had plenty of it. With the James Bond theme running throughout the celebration, guests were encouraged to dress to the nines and settle in, enjoy the atmosphere and raise a glass to the birthday boy while Hog Roast Carluke kept the food flowing.
And it seems our mission was a success. Following the celebrations, Faith kindly left us a five-star review, which is always the best way to round off an event. We were thrilled to hear that she was so happy with the food and service – and we were delighted to have played a part in making Paul’s 60th a birthday to remember.
All in all, it was a mission accomplished for Hog Roast Carluke. No gadgets, disguises or Aston Martins required – just a solid team, friendly service and excellent flavours.
