Over the years, we have been lucky enough to cater for several events in Coalburn, and the surrounding area.
Local residents seem to love a hog roast in Coalburn. We are regularly asked to provide this popular party food for family get-togethers to celebrate weddings, anniversaries, birthdays as well as for village and corporate events.
This weekend we were asked back by a long-term customer to help them to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. In the past, this family has taken advantage of our spit roast machine hire service, doing most of the cooking themselves. However, this year, for the first time, they had us cook everything for them. As requested, we provided them with a private party buffet for the main part of the evening. The meat that was left over was served later, cold with a salad, some party platters, for those guests who had to arrive later.
Several of the guests are members of the Coalburn I.O.R Pipe Band, so our chef and his assistant were treated to live music, played by award winning musicians, while they cooked. Over the years, we have provided food for several of the band’s social events, as well as for small events held at the Coalburn Miners Welfare Sports & Social Club. As a result, there were many familiar faces amongst the guests. Making this one of the nicest hog roast Coalburn events we have had the pleasure of working at.
Naturally, our chefs work hard to provide a good service, but it is always fun to work with old clients. Being able to do so, on a regular basis, is one of the nicest things about providing a local catering service like ours. It means that you get to help generations of the same family to mark and celebrate the special events in their lives.
This family has a farming background, so really appreciate the quality of the meat that we provide. They fully understand the hard work that goes into raising pigs that are happy, well cared for, and produce safe and tasty meat. It is always nice for the team to receive praise for their work, and to know that the effort they put in is understood, and appreciated by the client.
