Hog Roast Airdrie for a Brit Pop Themed Wedding Anniversary!

Surrey - bread2Here at Hog Roast Airdrie we are very well versed in catering for parties with many different musical themes and we had great fun last weekend when we provided the food for a 10th wedding anniversary with a more modern classic genre of 90s Britpop! Rick and Becky first met during their wild student days with Oasis, Blur and Pulp providing the score for their blossoming love affair and these bands have always been the musical foundation of their relationship. They got hitched 10 years to the day after meeting in a student nightclub and having their first slow dance to Wonderwall, and they have enjoyed another decade of marital bliss ever since! To mark the 10-year anniversary of their match made in musical heaven, they just couldn’t resist throwing a party to celebrate their enduring love for each other and for Britpop!

Rick and Becky chose Hog Roast Airdrie to do the catering for their special night due to our uncanny ability to fit seamlessly into any party, regardless of the theme and of course because we can provide fantastic, budget friendly food that pleases everyone! Cool Britannia ruled the airwaves as both the guests and the on-site Hog Roast Airdrie catering team were led on a trip down memory lane. The realisation that all of his favourite ‘modern’ bands were now 20 years old almost induced an instant mid-life crisis in our chef, but he managed to remain his focused and professional self as he carved the tender slow-roasted pork for the couple and their 40 guests! He felt a little bit better when Rick’s mother confided in him that the music was a bit modern for her tastes whilst he nodded knowingly and discreetly served our pork and homemade apple sauce in a gluten-free bread roll for her, as requested. Even if the music wasn’t to her taste, our buffet certainly was, as we can cater for all dietary requirements in a way that doesn’t make any of the guests feel excluded or singled out!

Surrey - coleslaw Rick and Becky were singled out however when they were very willingly coerced into recreating their first romantic dance to Wonderwall whilst their guests took the opportunity to return to our serving table for seconds! All the guests agreed it was a lovely party with lovely food, and the couple have even invited us to cater for their next milestone anniversary! Rick’s mum would also love to eat Hog Roast Airdrie’s food again, but she would like her son and daughter-in-law to play a bit of Frank Sinatra at their next party!
