Hog Roast Biggar Hits a Culinary Hole-in-One At A Golf Tournament!

Hog Roast Biggar Scotland, the birthplace of golf, boasts over 550 golf courses, including some of the world’s oldest and most iconic fairways. With the sport’s popularity surging among all age groups, it’s no surprise that Hog Roast Biggar is catering for more and more golf-related events. And, last weekend, we had the pleasure of serving our signature hog roast at a highly anticipated all-day golf tournament!

We kicked things off bright and early, arriving on-site while the morning mist still clung to the air. While the clouds loomed overhead, the rain mercifully stayed away—a rare win in Scotland! As the tournament crowds gathered, we were ready to fuel their day with piping hot bacon and sausage rolls, slathered in their choice of sauces. It was the perfect breakfast for a day on the green, and the crowd was buzzing with excitement.

As the golfers teed off, Hog Roast Biggar remained focused on preparing the after-golf hog roast. The smell of the pork, slowly turning golden and crisp, filled the air and drew the attention of everyone within sniffing distance. We knew we were in for a busy day as the anticipation grew along with the delicious aroma!

Four hours later, as the last ball was sunk and the golfers were famished, it was time to serve up the main event. And what a feast it was! The hog, with its perfectly charred spots and irresistible crackling, was a sight to behold. The meat was so tender and juicy, while the crunchiness of the crackling added the perfect contrast. We piled wholemeal rolls high with pulled pork, sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, and crackling for the ultimate sandwich.

For those looking for a plant-based option, our BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls didn’t disappoint! Even the most dedicated carnivores couldn’t resist the smokey, tangy flavour paired with crunchy coleslaw.

As everyone dug in, the atmosphere was electric. The laughter, the cheers, the satisfied sighs of those enjoying our food—it all combined to create a perfect end to a perfect day. After the meal, the crowd gathered to applaud the tournament’s winners before retreating to the lodge for a celebratory drink.

As for Hog Roast Biggar, we packed up our gear and headed back to HQ, thrilled with how the day unfolded. Another successful event in the bag, and excited for the next opportunity we get to bring our hog roast magic to the world of golf!
