Last June, the weather was unusually warm bringing the people of Britain out in their gardens to sun bathe and enjoy barbeques. We received an enquiry via our email from a young couple named Elisha and Garry, they had just moved into their new house In Caldercruix and wanted a caterer for their warming party. They chose the menu of spit roasted hog, accompanied by floured bread rolls, salads and crispy crackling. Although this is one of our simpler choices, it was perfect for a small gathering. The pair explained that they had a vegetarian in the family therefore we prepared veggie skewers to take along with us with the meat.
As the day arrived, the sun was beaming and it was a perfect day for a buffet. We turned up at the couple’s town house around midday to set up ready for 4pm, when the guests would be arriving. We took along a hog roasting chef and of course, one of our professional roasting machines. The chef took time to rub the chosen hog in salt to ensure it would create a delicious crackling. Soon enough, Elisha, Garry and friends queued up to pile their plates with a delicious feast. They were delighted as there was so much to choose from. Garry thanked us personally for our spread and told us he wanted to hire out one of our machines in the future to surprise Elisha.
