This week we had been contacted by our client Lindsay to come and provide a corporate menu for GAP Group LTD at Balfour Beatty in Springhill, Lanarkshire. Hog Roast Carluke catering manager John was responsible for organising this event and worked with Lindsay to establish just what would be needed on the day.
We arrived at the venue ready for a midday serve time for two hundred guests. We had been asked by Lindsay to keep it simple and supply our classic Hog Roast Carluke roast. With this you get a whole pig which we roast for several hours on one of our machines before carving and slicing up into bread rolls. These rolls are then topped with layers of crispy crackling, tangy applesauce and homemade stuffing for the perfect hog roast roll. For the vegetarians we brought along some grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers which were easily made vegan by simply omitting the cheese. To make sure all bases were covered we also had some gluten free bread rolls to hand.
Once the food was ready, we called the guests over. There really is nothing more satisfying than watching people enjoy your work!
