Summer in Scotland is typically over in the blink of an eye, but for whatever reason, this year, we’ve been blessed with weeks upon weeks of glorious sunshine, cloudless blue skies and soaring temperatures that have only been broken up by the odd day of intermittent showers – which is probably a reminder to not to get too attached to the new tropical climate! And whilst we might still spend our days moaning about midges, the sweltering heat and resulting sunburns to anyone who’ll listen to us, frankly, it’s been bliss.
At Hog Roast Stewarton, our team have been having an especially great time, as all the good weather we’ve been experiencing across the country has encouraged Lanarkshire residents to get outdoors and enjoy the rare sunshine before it disappears again behind dark grey clouds and sheets of icy rainfall for another year.
Most recently, we were hired by Iona and Timmy to cater for their annual summer barbeque. And having been forced to cancel their celebrations last year due to covid and its subsequent lockdowns, the pair were determined to make this year’s summertime garden party twice as memorable.
After speaking with John, our catering manager here at Hog Roast Stewarton, about the variety of menus we have on offer, it didn’t take long before the couple set their sights on our gorgeous Gourmet BBQ Menu, which brings all of the nation’s favourite barbie flavours together in one place.
This traditional feast with a special Hog Roast Stewarton twist was exactly what Iona and Timmy had in mind when they first approached us in the weeks leading up to their event. And on the day of the party, they and their guests watched as John and the team expertly grilled our handmade 100% beef burger patties, gourmet sausages, tasty chicken kebabs and marinated spareribs over a low flame. The sides included a mixture of colourful salads, creamy coleslaw and a combination of sweet potato and regular fries, which were served on bamboo wooden crockery with matching cutlery to the eager-eyed guests.
The couple was amazed by the quality of the food and the efficiency in which Hog Roast Stewarton worked to cater to everyone, and they’ve since been in touch to thank John and the team again for all their efforts!
