It’s been a bizarre few months, to say the least! But now that schools across the country are beginning to reopen, parents, teachers and children alike can breathe a sigh of relief as they claim back some semblance of normality.
With a busy term time ahead of them and lots to catch up on, the staff at one local high school decided to mark their long-awaited return to work with a delicious lunch. Out of several catering options, Hog Roast Carlops won by a landslide! With that, Catrina (who had been the nominated event planner for this occasion) got in touch with our team to set up a time and date.
Luckily for this client, the Hog Roast Carlops catering team had a space left in their diary for this event! So, after pinning the date on the calendar, our catering manager walked Catrina through our vast selection of menu options until she found the perfect one for her and her fellow teaching staff. The menu she had chosen was the corporate hospitality menu 3, which offers a laid-back alfresco experience with a selection of fresh side salads and vegetables to complement the slow roasted pig. Trust us, it’s even tastier than it sounds written down!
Specially for the event, the teachers had set up a marquee in the playground which covered rows and rows of foldable dining tables that had been borrowed from the school cafeteria. Doing what they do best, Hog Roast Carlops threw themselves into the lunchtime preparations which resulted in two full-size pigs which had been roasted low and slow in our HogMaster Pro and warm new potatoes roasted with sea salt and rosemary, as well as a trio of salads which included options of tomato and basil, carrot and orange with sesame dressing and avocado and ripe cherry tomato.
It felt so good for the Hog Roast Carlops team to be back in action and catering for a large scale event again. Plus, with plenty on offer for all 250 staff, including a meatless option of BBQ pulled jackfruit wraps, no one went hungry at this event!
