Highland Games fans and food lovers, gather ‘round! The recent Lanarkshire Highland Games was an event for the books, and Hog Roast Berwick was lucky enough to be right in the heart of the action. The day was bursting with excitement, tradition, and mouthwatering food, and we couldn’t have asked for a better crowd.
From the moment the games kicked off, the field was alive with excitement. The heavyweight competitions were a crowd favourite, with impressive displays of strength and skill. Almost two hundred Highland dancers twirled and leaped in a dazzling array of tartan, while an army of bagpipers filled the air with their distinctive tunes. For those craving more action, there were athletics, cycling, and wrestling events that kept the adrenaline pumping.
But it wasn’t just about the competitions. The younger crowd had their fair share of fun at the bustling funfair, complete with thrilling rides and games. And, for visitors in the mood for some retail therapy, there was a wealth of trade stands and craft stalls to explore.
Amidst all this excitement, Hog Roast Berwick was set up and ready to serve our scrumptious fare. And the sight and smell of our slow-roasting pig made us hard to miss!
Our prized hog roast rolls, complete with crispy crackling, savoury stuffing, and a sweet dollop of applesauce, were a welcome treat for the invited guests. And for our vegan and veggie friends, our pulled jackfruit rolls were a crowd-pleaser, proving that plant-based can be just as indulgent.
The day was an absolute blast for the Hog Roast Berwick team. The energy, the excitement, and the sheer joy of being part of such a vibrant event made it a memorable experience.
If you missed out on our hog roast this time, don’t worry—our team will be back at future Highland Games and other exciting events in the area.
