This past Saturday, Hog Roast Carluke had the absolute pleasure of catering for Chloe and Joe’s gender reveal party!
The couple had been counting down the days to finding out the gender of their bundle of joy ever since they saw those two life-changing lines on their pregnancy test. However, they wanted to involve their whole family in the special moment, so rather than finding out at their 20-week scan, they asked the sonographer to write the gender on a slip of paper. That slip made its way to a local bakery, where it was transformed into a buttercream cake with a mystery-coloured centre.
To ensure the day was as spectacular as the reveal itself, Chloe and Joe rented a beautifully decorated function room at a local hotel, complete with twinkling fairy lights, vibrant balloons, and light-up signs. With 60 eager family members and friends in attendance, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation—and we at Hog Roast Carluke were ready to deliver a feast worthy of such a momentous occasion.
For this special gathering, Chloe and Joe chose our Hog Roast Dining Menu, a crowd-pleaser that guarantees deliciousness for every palate. The mains featured succulent whole-roasted free-range chickens, seasoned to perfection with thyme and sea salt and served with stuffing and chipolata sausages on fresh brown bread. For the burger lovers, we had 6oz British beef burgers and gourmet sausages fresh off the grill. And for the veggie and vegan guests, our BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls, paired with plant-based coleslaw, provided all the hickory flavour without any meat.
Our sides were just as carefully crafted, bringing extra colour and flavour to the meal. Guests helped themselves to the bamboo bowls brimming with Caesar salad, creamy coleslaw, a tomato-and-mozzarella salad, and a mix of seasonal salad leaves. And let’s not forget the star of the sides: luxurious dauphinoise potatoes baked with garlic, onions, and double cream—pure comfort on a plate!
As Hog Roast Carluke served this ecstatic group, laughter filled the room, and compliments flowed! The atmosphere was electric, but it reached a whole new level when Chloe and Joe finally sliced into their cake. The suspense hung in the air like confetti, and when that bright pink sponge was revealed, the room erupted into cheers! It’s a girl!
