Every year, from May to September, Scotland transforms into a playground of strength, skill, and tradition as the Highland Games take hold With roots dating back to the 11th century—thanks King Malcolm III—the games are a legendary spectacle, drawing spectators from all over the globe.

So, when Hog Roast Blaydon got invited to a Highland Games event, we couldn’t pack our bags fast enough! Sure, it meant venturing a bit beyond our Lanarkshire home turf, but the chance to serve up some serious scran to hungry game-goers was too good to pass up.

As we rolled up to the venue, we were greeted by a scene straight out of a Scottish fairytale. Clan tents dotted the landscape, echoing with the sounds of bagpipes and laughter. And the vendors? Let’s just say there was no shortage of Nessie memorabilia and tasty treats, from haggis to shortbread—yum!

But enough about the scenery—let’s talk about the star of the show: our hog roast! Using only the finest free-range hog, Hog Roast Blaydon whipped up some seriously scrumptious hog roast rolls with all the fixings.
