October is always an incredibly exciting time for our Hog Roast Coatbridge catering staff. From Oktoberfest at the beginning of the month to Samhain at the end, there’s always plenty to keep us occupied whilst we eagerly plan for the Christmas party season, and this year hasn’t been much different. The only thing that has changed is that we’re seeing more and more types of events in the lead-up to All Hallows Eve!
With many starting their celebrations earlier this year, too, we’ve been able to enjoy the delightful festive atmosphere all month long, and recently, our team were asked along to a family-friendly Halloween encounter in the countryside. Unlike the adult-only versions, which focus on scaring the wits out of fright-seekers, the children’s variant, as you might have guessed, is designed to be far more tame with a mixture of malevolent and benevolent creatures of the night waiting along the trail.
The organiser of this particular event, Abby, had given Hog Roast Coatbridge’s catering manager, John, a full explanation of the experience before asking for recommendations on which of our menus would best fit her theme and budget. With the event largely focused on pleasing the children, John suggested our Gourmet BBQ spread, which offers an unbeatable combination of handmade British 100% beef burgers, juicy sausages, chicken kebabs, meaty spareribs marinated in a sticky BBQ sauce and gourmet hotdogs, with a meatless option of grilled veggie skewers with tzatziki dip and flatbreads. To complement the meal, gourmet coleslaw, chips, fresh rolls, and Greek salad were to be included on the menu.
With the event set to take place later in the evening, John had further recommended the inclusion of our drinks buffet, which offers guests the chance to warm up with a piping hot cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Abby really loved this idea, and when the time came for the event to go ahead, Hog Roast Coatbridge didn’t disappoint with the delicious feast! Both the hot food and drink options went down well with children and their accompanying parents, so much so, in fact, that many returned for an extra helping before heading home!
