The players at a local rugby club who we catered for recently were keen to get back on the pitch after being obliged to have a long and unforeseen break. Whilst they were enjoying getting back into training and playing competitive matches, they all felt that it wasn’t the same without their fans there cheering them on. So, to give them all a bit of a boost, the manager of the club and the coach put their heads together to see if they could come up with something. Having hired the Hog Roast Giffnock team to cater for an event the previous year, the club manager immediately thought of us! The coach agreed that a post-match hog roast treat was a wonderful idea and he was even more delighted after contacting us for a quote and finding out what great value for money it is too! As an added bonus, he was pleased that our minimalist set-up meant that we could provide the whole team with a fantastic freshly made hog roast feast with only two members of our catering team on-site!
The Hog Roast Giffnock chef and our multi-skilled catering assistant arrived on-site a few hours before the match started to set about slowly roasting our superb ethically reared pork and preparing some superior seasonal vegetables and jacket potato wedges, using superior ingredients from our impressive larder of locally sourced produce! The players certainly had a spring in their step when they arrived for their pre-match warm-up when they were met with the irresistible aroma of our delicately cooked pork, and by the time the match was over, it was falling off the bone and ready to be served alongside our freshly made side dishes. Our hearty spread was very well-received, with most of the players and the coach coming back for a second helping! They may not have had their usual crowd there to celebrate their win, but all the players agreed that being treated to the best slow roasted pork around after the match courtesy of the Hog Roast Giffnock team certainly made up for it!
