It was a perfect day for many car enthusiasts as a banger car race day had been organised at a track at Newhouse. It was the fourth year running that the races had been held at Newhouse and had always been very popular.
The catering for the event was booked well in advance for the event and we at Hog Roast Newhouse was available all day long. We had provided the food on the previous occasions with great success which is why they wanted to secure their booking well ahead as the hog roast rolls go down very well with everyone! We arrived early with our machine to cook a large pig to make BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. Sausage and burgers were also available for anyone who wasn’t too adventurous. The event drew all kinds of people to the race. There were plenty of car enthusiasts and young lads attending plus families with children of all ages. So the food that we provided would definitely be able to please everyone, especially the burgers and hot dogs for the kids.
The cars for the races were all different models and some in better condition than others. Many of the cars came from scrap yards as they were only going to be used for one or two races as there wouldn’t be much left of them by the end of the day. Each race was to be 5 laps with basic rules. As long as drivers weren’t being too dangerous it was a case of anything goes. There were crashes, bangs, spins and flips all to the great joy and laughter of the audience.
But never the less we at Hog Roast Newhouse were doing a roaring trade flipping burgers and sizzling sausage. The BBQ pulled pork rolls were also a great success. Onions and tomato sauce accompanied the sausage and burgers while apple sauce and sage & onion stuffing was served for the pulled pork. The races all went without out too much of a hitch and Hog Roast Newhouse provided fantastic food as usual.
