Bad weather can often be annoying to say the least when you’ve put your heart and soul into planning an event for a special occasion, but if you’ve hired Hog Roast Riggend to do your catering, fear not! If we’re cooking outdoors for you, then our marquee tents or gazebos can help with that, depending on the type of weather on the day. But did you know that we can even spit roast or cook a hog for you indoors? In the colder months such as now, many customers choose to have an indoor roast, and as long as the space is big enough and well-ventilated, it’s not an issue at all.
For Eric’s 70th birthday party organised by his family, they first wanted it to be held at home and indoors but unfortunately, size-wise, it wasn’t possible. We could have cooked outside in the large back garden but the freezing air made Eric’s sons beg us to cook up a storm indoors somewhere instead! They came back to us with the option of a local sports club with its own indoor hall that was just right for the number of guests and for us to be able to roast a juicy, fat Hog Roast Riggend inside for the celebration.
On the day of the party, our team arrived in the afternoon to set up our equipment, including the Hog Roast Riggend machine (with the hog inside ready to be prepped from scratch) and our serving station. Whether you’re enjoying our sumptuous pigs in buns, a plate of hot hog and veg or a different kind of meat, our serving station has plenty of room for us to slice off lots of lovely pieces to put into trays to serve to guests while it’s fresh and hot. As well as that, we can provide all kinds of other food options for your event, including salads, starters, desserts and any dietary requirements that you can think of.
Eric loved his party and our delicious food so much that he has booked us in for his wife Diane’s 70th in the summer months. A repeat booking is pretty much the greatest compliment a chef can receive.
