Hog Roast Tarbrax Rolls!

For Anna and Joel’s engagement party at the weekend, they called us in advance asking about our various menu options. They were surprised to find out that, despite our name, we can provide much more than hog roasts, and often do. While our hog roasts are extremely popular, we can also cater for your event or party with a spit roast of chicken, turkey, beef or lamb, for instance. We can add attachments to our hog roast machines so that we can barbecue burgers and sausages instead. We can even supply canapés, starters and desserts together with your main dish, and if any of your guests have dietary requirements, we have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, too. Whatever your food requirements, Hog Roast Tarbrax won’t disappoint you.

Anna and Joel decided on our yummy Hog Roast Tarbrax rolls and a few fresh salads for their party, as well as a vegetarian tart for one of their guests. When Sunday came around, our team headed off to the local hotel venue gardens to set up the hog roast machine and serving station under the gazebo. I prepped the hog myself by scoring it all over in diamond shapes and then by adding water to keep it moist and then smothering it in salt to produce that lovely crackling that always goes down well. We need to keep a careful eye on it as it roasts, to check that it’s cooking through and that the flame stays lit. It was a fairly windy day so this was more reason to keep an eye on the flame, and it takes a bit longer to cook a pig in windy weather.

As the guests started to arrive, we did a final check on the hog and it had cooked beautifully throughout. As it rested, we freshly prepared the salads and the veggie tart and got the serving table ready with the sauces and condiments. Anna and Joel loved their centrepiece Hog Roast Tarbrax and the way everything was laid out neatly and professionally but we could tell from their faces that they loved the taste of the hog even more. We stripped the hog clean and all the guests returned for at least seconds, which is the best compliment a chef can have.
