Birthday Hog Roast Newarthill

As well as a chef, I’m a bit of a big kid, so I’d really enjoyed catering a Wild West party recently. This meant I was really happy when I found out I would be providing the food for a Cowboys and Indians birthday party over the weekend. Kids parties are usually a whole heap of fun for the young at heart like me anyway but a themed party for children like this can be even better, especially when it’s a theme I had always wanted for myself when younger.

For this occasion, Carly and Ben called us to arrange a hog roast in Newarthill for their son’s 8th birthday with lots of friends and family members and mentioned that they would be hiring other caterers for other party food. We asked what else they needed and in addition to the hog roast, they would be having some salad dishes, potatoes and a vegetarian option for one of the guests. The couple were really surprised to find out that we can cater events with so much more than hog roasts, and that we could provide everything they had just asked for. So they booked us there and then for our tasty hog roast rolls, baked potatoes, a green leaf salad, coleslaw and a flavoursome Spanish quiche for the veggie option.

We arrived at the couple’s house bright and early on Sunday and set up our equipment in the garden. We use hog roast machines that we designed ourselves and bring along a serving table and gazebo, as well as the food and lots of napkins. I prepped the pig for cooking and kept an eye on it while it slowly but surely roasted to perfection. Once cooked, our hogs are always moist and tender on the inside and crispy and salty on the outside, giving you that perfect combination of tastes. We chatted with the guests and admired the fantastic Wild West decorations as it cooked and then it was time to bake the potatoes and prepare the salads fresh. By the time the hog roast Newarthill was resting, we were onto slicing the bread rolls, dishing out the quiche, apple sauce and stuffing and arranging the condiments on the serving table. The birthday boy, dressed as a cute little cowboy,  was first in line and couldn’t wait to sample our food.
