For a wedding that we catered in Troon recently, Hog Roast Ayr was asked to cook our Menu 1, which are our famous pigs in buns, for most of the guests, and to provide a vegetarian option too. We would be catering in the dark, as buffet service would be between 9pm and 10pm, but we are flexible and don’t mind this at all. When it comes to catering your wedding day, it’s such a special day that you need caterers who are flexible, to work around what you want and need, and we strive to be just that for our customers.
Our services were booked by Kayleigh from The Marine Hotel in Troon, on behalf of her clients. The Marine Hotel is a lovely spa hotel that not only has amazing views over the Isle of Arran but is situated right next to the Royal Troon Golf Club. Kayleigh asked that in addition to our sumptuous centrepiece hog roast, which would make plenty of hog roast rolls, that we cook our veggie skewers for the vegetarian guests. Our skewers are undoubtedly our most popular vegetarian option, and feature halloumi and various vegetables such as peppers, tomatoes, red onion, courgette, and mushrooms.
On the day of the wedding feast, Hog Roast Ayr arrived in the afternoon to start cooking the hog, as it takes several hours to produce soft and juicy meat and salty, crispy crackling. By 9pm, outside in the dark but under the hotel lights, we were ready to serve lots of delicious food to the happy couple and their 100 wedding guests.
