At Hog Roast Carnoustie, we’ve had the pleasure of catering for countless weddings, and if there’s one lesson we’ve learned, it’s that no two celebrations are alike. Each event is as distinct and special as the couple at the centre of it, and this is what makes our job so thrilling!
This month, we had the honour of being part of an extraordinary celebration as we helped Naomi and Duncan tie the knot in a wild outdoor wedding here in Lanarkshire.
Naomi and Duncan had been envisioning their dream wedding for a long time, and they decided to make it a reality with a unique outdoor ceremony at the beginning of this month. Despite initial reservations from guests about the idea of an outdoor winter wedding, the magical setting against rolling hills, a serene loch, and lush woodland won everyone over. It turned out to be the nicest day in weeks, and although guests were bundled up, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.
The hand-fasting ceremony was a touching start to the celebration, and afterwards, the couple and their 50 guests headed to the outdoor tipi for the festivities. The interior was adorned with rustic benches, fur throws, and fairy lights, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere for the newlyweds and their loved ones.
After the toasts were made, Hog Roast Carnoustie revealed our Southern Slow Roast Menu, a feast designed not only to satisfy taste buds but also to be a feast for the eyes. The presentation of BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole roast chicken, pulled quarter of minted lamb, and vegetarian-friendly grilled skewers was a visual delight. The main dishes were further complemented by sides of mac and cheese, potato salad, and corn cobettes, creating a hearty and diverse spread.
This delectable feast was prepared fresh on-site by our talented chefs, presented beautifully, and served promptly. The guests were enamoured with the variety and abundance, allowing them to indulge their appetites to the fullest. Even the family dogs, a unique inclusion in this special wedding, gave Hog Roast Carnoustie the “paws-up” for this fantastic feast!
Naomi and Duncan’s outdoor wedding with Hog Roast Carnoustie was a true testament to the uniqueness of each celebration.
