Whether you’re looking to plan an intimate get together for 50 people or an unforgettable affair for 2,000, celebrating in style has never been easier thanks to our experienced catering team at Hog Roast Cumbernauld who are skilled at turning any event into a special occasion. Recently, the team faced one of their biggest challenges to date when Britain’s billion-pound multinational defence, security and aerospace company BAE Systems reached out to discuss their plans to celebrate the completion of their new Royal Navy frigate which meant providing a mouth-watering buffet to the 2,500 people who all played a role in the creation of the ship.
Not afraid to face up to a challenge no matter how big or small, catering manager John started making preparations for the event right away by scaling up our classic hog roast menu to suit the client’s needs; and before long, the team found themselves loading up the catering van with enough food to feed an army (literally!) and making the hour-long journey to Fife. Trading in our trusty catering gazebo for a marquee big enough to fit all of the serving tables, the Hog Roast Cumbernauld crew wasted no time in getting started on slow-roasting all ten of the whole pigs and preparing the cheese-covered 100% beef handmade gourmet burgers, chicken kebabs and vegetarian-friendly grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers.
Keeping their focus as the midday serving time neared, the catering team worked against the clock to whip up batches of crunchy coleslaw, sauces and leafy salads as garnishes as well as laying out a table dedicated to towers of disposable crockery and cutlery, gluten-free rolls and a selection of condiments for the guests to enjoy. The final touch was placing a standing menu sign outside the tent which directed the BAE workers to the tantalising feast of delicious food.
The atmosphere was soon buzzing with excitement as the workers began arriving to celebrate their feat which had taken them a number of months to complete – and after catching the scent of the succulent meats, they were keen to dig in! By the end of the evening, there was nothing but clean plates which were discreetly tidied away by the Hog Roast Cumbernauld crew before they packed up and headed home.
