Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet Took To The Countryside For A Fairytale Winter Wedding

December is by far our busiest month of the year, and as yet, we have had lots of different events to keep us on our toes this holiday season! Last Saturday, for instance, our Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet catering team, were invited along to an extravagant, yet intimate, winter wedding ceremony in the countryside.

The couple getting hitched on this occasion, Linda and Matt, had chosen a blissful country manor house location that was surrounded by rolling fields, evergreen trees with frost-coated leaves and stunning, manicured gardens, which provided the perfect setting for the outdoor marquees the pair had chosen as part of the reception for their special day.

Despite having had to cut their original guest list by more than half, the pair was still as determined as ever to make every moment spectacular. And so, completing the fairytale-esque scene, Linda and Matt had asked Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet to prepare one of our delightful wedding menus for the occasion, and after much deliberation, and some guidance from our catering manager, they opted for our wedding menu 4.

Offering a more traditional take on wedding catering, this comprehensive, three-course menu is ideal for more formal events like the one Linda and Matt dreamed of. With gorgeous handmade canapes to start, this spread exudes luxury with every mouthful, not to mention the varied course options which are well-suited to even the fussiest of guests.

On the day of the couple’s nuptials, Hog Roast Gatehouse of Fleet’s catering crew made the long journey toward the venue, where they immediately began setting up the outdoor coverings and cooking equipment. Then, braving against the crisp chill in the air, the team remained entirely focused as they prepared the meal.

When the wedding party arrived, they enjoyed the selection of tasty nibbles before sitting down to a feast which began with a smoked salmon and avocado starter, followed by the spit roasted lamb and chicken options, each of which was served with a variety of salad and potato sides, before finally, the sticky toffee pudding and rich chocolate torte slices were served.

We’re so pleased to say that the food was an instant hit, and the bride and groom both seemed to thoroughly enjoy their special day!
